A young man in a denim shirt and gray pants sitting on a chair, leaning forward with hands clasped, looking directly at the camera, with a camera on the floor in front of him.

When I was 9 years old, I saved up enough money to buy my first camera and have never looked back.

After graduating from the University of Michigan with a major in Screen Arts and Cultures, I moved to Austin where I worked on network television (Shipping Wars, Naked and Afraid) and created, shot, and produced the Webby Award-winning It’s Okay To Be Smart before heading east to Washington, D.C. for a job at National Geographic.

From there I traveled to over 40 countries and 6 continents, before returning to the West Coast for graduate school, returning in 2023 to launch Mitten State Photography from my favorite place on earth - the shores of Lake Michigan.

Life is electric. Let’s capture it.
